WHAT IS VIRGIN HAIR?

WHAT IS THE BENEFIT TO VIRGIN HAIR?

"VIRGIN HAIR" is defined as chemically unprocessed 100% HUMAN hair.

When hair is dyed or chemically treated in some way, it may weaken and become damaged. With each additional dye treatment or other type of chemical processing that it endures, it will continue to become more damaged. Virgin hair extensions have not been damaged in this way, so they are considered to be a higher quality product.

CAN I COLOR MY BUNDLES?

Salon Lace Me Hair is 100% virgin which allows for the hair to be bleached, colored, highlighted, or ombre. Salon Lace Me does offer coloring services in our Salon as well as on our site for ultimate customization of our extensions all color services require a consultation and we do not color hair the same days appointments.

CAN I STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR?

Salon Lace Me Hair can be straightened and will revert back to its original pattern once wet. However, please note that excessive straightening loosens the curl pattern in most textured patterns of hair.

WHAT ARE CLOSURES & FRONTALS?

Frontal and closures are both useful ways to close a weave install with the illusion of scalp. Frontals are lace pieces that go from ear to ear they offer versatile parting and up-do hairstyles. Frontals give the illusion of a complete hairline. Closures, however, are not from ear to ear, they offer a small lace patch that closes the install and give the illusion of a part.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE IN 360 LACE WIGS & FULL LACE WIGS?

360 Lace Wigs have lace around the entire perimeter of the unit with wefts in the center. This limits versatility in styling the wig with half up and half down styles. 360 wigs are a great option is your main concern is being able to put you hair in a high ponytail. Full lace wigs are exactly that. The entire cap is constructed with lace, not on does this allow ponytails but free parting throughout the entire unit. Both kinds of units can be applied either with an elastic band or adhesive.

HOW MANY PACKS OF HAIR/BUNDLES WILL I NEED?

With SLM hair we recommend at least a minimum of TWO bundles/packs of hair for a full install. However, we sew up to 4 for our clients without charge. (*see wig bundle prices on custom units page)

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE IN A REGULAR SERVICE VS. A FULL SERVICE?

All SLM Express services come with a flat iron loose curls and trim . Full Service come with a shampoo and deep condition, trim and installation of your choice.

WHY DO SOME BUNDLES LOOK DIFFERENT LENGTHS EVEN THOUGH THEY'RE THE SAME INCH?

WHY IS the type OF HAIR IMPORTANT?

Choosing the right texture will make or break your weave install. If you’re looking for a semi course hair texture, Raw Collection is the way to go. If you are looking for a polished hair Mink would be the best choice. If you love shades of blondes that don’t shed and tangle, European hair would better suit your needs. If you enjoy length, and prefer a silky look, Raw Natural wave would best suit your need. If Kelly Rowland curly is your style, our deep wave will give you that desired look. Virgin Hair is exactly what it means, unprocessed, never dyed, you can also do custom coloring. Virgin means you have to comb, shampoo and condition, trim and tie it up at night. Virgin hair can be an investment for continued use if you can take care of it.

MAINTAIN.

Of course we personally recommend our Silk Shampoo for cleansing bundles. However if that's out of reach, we also recommend using premium products that are sulfate free Fekkai, Nexxus, and John Frieda, all available at Walgreens. The products you choose to buy should help fight humidity. We suggest you try these products while you enjoy your install. For any reason you don’t buy the recommended products you can always start using them, if your current shampoo dries out your weave or leaves a film on it after shampooing, or if it starts to tangle.

CLEAN.

SLM recommends that you Shampoo and Deep Condition your weave on a weekly basis. Clients should always comb hair out before and after you shampoo it. Never wash your weave vigorously. All virgin hair needs to be co-washed before your first install in addition to sealing your wefts after your first install. Always comb hair from the bottom up to avoid breakage and splitting ends. Clients should keep split ends trimmed and stay away from oil sheens and leave in conditioners. These products will dry your weave out and start making your weave tangle and break off.

STYLE.

Be sure to see a coloring specialist before dying hair. Use thermal spray before the use of hot tools. Sleep with a protective pillow case or hair bonnet (preferably silk, satin or polyester) 2-strand twist or braid wavy and curly hair at night, before swimming or exercising.
